Sahara chief Subrata Roy, remanded in judicial custody till March 11 by the Supreme Court Tuesday, will be kept in Jail No.3 of Delhi's Tihar Jail.
"Roy arrived at Tihar at about 8 p.m. and was sent for medical examination to the Tihar hospital. He will be lodged in Jail No.3," said an official of Tihar jail -- south Asia's largest prison.
"His medical condition is normal," the official added.
"He would be given tea and biscuits in the morning and treated like a normal person," said another official.
The Supreme Court Tuesday sent Roy and two directors of his company -- Ashok Roy Choudhary and Ravi Shankar Dubey -- to judicial custody till they present a concrete proposal to return the balance of Rs.19,000 crore they had collected from investors through optionally fully-convertible debentures.
