Syria and Iran have signed several agreements on cooperation in electricity, industry, oil, and investment, media reported on Tuesday.
The agreements came during visits here by a number of senior Iranian officials, including Ali Akbar Velayati, foreign affairs advisor to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Rostam Qasemi, chairman of the Iranian-Syrian Economic Relations Development Committee, Xinhua news agency reported citing Syrian state TV.
Iran has emerged as a staunch ally of Damascus in the long-running conflict gripping Syria.
