A 29-year-old tailor was stoned to death allegedly by the son of a fire brigade employee for demanding money to enter into a homosexual liaison with him, police said Thursday after arresting both the accused.

Dheeraj was found with his skull bashed in in a room of the Balmiki Dharmasala in west Delhi's Baba Haridas Nagar Tuesday around 6.40 a.m.

Alerted about the body, police made enquiries, found out his identity and put his number on technical surveillance.

They found the mobile was with a 19-year-old, identified as Chetan.

Upon questioning, Chetan revealed that the murder had been committed by his friend, Vikas, 21, the son of a fire brigade employee.

Chetan was arrested Wednesday while Vikas was apprehended Thursday from his residence in west Delhi's Najafgarh area.

Vikas had taken Dheeraj with him to the dharmasala, which had vacant rooms, to strike up a liaison on Monday night. But Dheeraj demanded money first in exchange for the sexual favour, upon which an inebriated Vikas attacked him repeatedly with a big stone and a wooden block, killing the tailor.

After finding that Dheeraj had died, he called up Chetan and narrated the incident to him. Chetan reached the spot and took away the phone to eliminate evidence. However, police traced the phone to his possession.
