English football club Tottenham Hotspur's chairman Daniel Levy has said he wants a permanent deal for wantaway winger Andros Townsend.
Townsend has fallen out of favour at the London-base club and wants a loan move to Newcastle United in the ongoing January transfer window, reports Xinhua.
According to reports, Newcastle has made an offer to Tottenham, but Levy wanted to meet his 14 million pounds valuation as he fears a loan could affect his future selling price.
The 24-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular role under manager Mauricio Pochettino and is now keen to leave in order to increase his chances of representing England at Euro 2016, which begins in June.
Newcastle is said to be plotting a move to reinforce its squad this month and is already being linked with a number of possible targets.
