Tunisians went to polls Sunday to elect their first full parliament under a new constitution passed earlier this year.

The polls opened at 7.00 a.m., and will close at 6.00 p.m., Xinhua reported.

Around five million Tunisians have registered to vote in 11,000 polling stations in 27 districts across the country.

Overseas residents have already cast their votes Friday.

Voters will choose from among 15,652 candidates.

Preliminary results will be revealed before Thursday, and final results will be released before Nov 24.
