Two bus drivers and a conductor of a private bus operator have been arested in Tamil Nadu's Salem district for trying to sexually assault a teenager, police said on Tuesday.
A police official in Salem's Omallur told IANS said the three persons - Perumal, Manivannan and Murugan - have been taken into custody for trying to assault the girl on Monday, while she has been sent to a hospital for check-up.
According to reports, the girl had boarded the bus bound to Omallur to reach her home. At the final destination, while other passengers got down, the accused somehow blocked her from getting off, took the bus to a secluded spot and tried to assault her.
The girl escaped from them and told villagers of her ordeal. The villagers then caught the three and handed them over to police.
