Uttar Pradesh district continues to remain tense

Uttar Pradesh' Mainpuri district continued to remain tense Sunday after four people were killed a day before, police said.

The incident took place in Mainpuri district's Manauna village Saturday when unidentified assailants opened fire on youths outside a liquor shop.

Police officials were deployed in large number to control the situation in the village.

An old rivalry over land or political animosity could have triggered the killings, police said.
