Expressing satisfaction over revival of the peace process between India and Pakistan, senior BJP leader L.K. Advani on Saturday said initiatives by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should be taken forward by the Narendra Modi government.
"Efforts initiated by Vajpayee ji should be taken forward by Modi ji and other leaders in the government for improving the relations between both countries and get rid of terrorism," Advani said here, reacting to Modi's surprise visit to Pakistan.
"Friendship between both the nations should continue and I express my satisfaction over the recent developments," he added.
Modi returned to Delhi on Friday from Kabul with a dramatic surprise stopover in Lahore where he and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif vowed to pursue the derailed bilateral peace process.
