Telecom service provider Videocon Telecom is planning to bid for the 900 Mhz licence auction in Delhi in January next year and has appointed Deloitte to evaluate the opportunity for it, a company statement said here Monday.

"The sharp cut in the floor price for 900 Mhz spectrum is very attractive and, particularly for Delhi telecom circle, it makes a very lucrative business case. Delhi telecom circle is of utmost importance to us, both strategically and potentially, and the fact the Delhi licence will be available on 900 Mhz spectrum completely fits in our strategic framework," said Arvind Bali, director and chief executive officer of Videocon Telecom.

"We are keen to participate in the upcoming auction and bid for the 900 Mhz licence for Delhi," he added.

The company now has spectrum in seven circles.
