Mobile users in Bangladesh reach 109 mn

The number of mobile subscribers in Bangladesh reached more than 109 million in August with 12 million new users in the first eight months of this year, official data showed Monday.

According to Bangladesh's Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the total number of mobile users in the country -- which has a population of more than 153 million -- reached 109.349 million in August, reports Xinhua.

Mobile companies sold nearly 12 million new connections in 2012, increasing the country's total subscribers to 97.18 million in December last year.
