Kerala Governor Nikhil Kumar will Tuesday inaugurate the Wayanad cricket ground, located about 900 metres above sea level.
This would become the second cricket ground in the country after the Dharamsala stadium to be located at this height.
Speaking to IANS, Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) president T.C.Mathew said the total project cost is Rs.10 crore and it has been fully funded by the KCA.
"The highlight of this is that this is a table top cricket ground and on three sides there are mountains, making it a very scenic cricket ground," said Mathew.
Located a stone's throw from the National Highway to Mysore, the stadium spread over 11 acres, has a 20,000 square feet pavilion.
The inaugural match will take place Dec 29 when the Mumbai under-19 team clashes with the home side.
