Wipro Infrastructure Engineering's industrial arm Win Automation on Tuesday said it had acquired Incite Cam Centre's automation business for an unspecified amount to offer integrated and end-to-end solutions.
"The acquisition enables us to address turnkey automation projects and digital factory initiatives and complete Industry 4.0 solutions," the non-IT services firm said in a statement here.
Founded in 2000, Incite Cam has executed about 3,000 automation projects in the past 18 years, with a strong design, manufacturing and integration expertise.
"Incite will add to our capabilities to deliver our customers' complete solutions with advanced integration and automation. It has synergy with our business and offers significant growth potential," Win Automation Chief Executive Pratik Kumar said in the statement.
Incite will also provide design skills from robotic simulation to detailed engineering for providing innovative and optimised automation solutions to Wipro customers.
Incite has a range of products for robotic welding automation including, MIG (metal inert gas) lines, TIG lines, spot-welding solutions, inspection automation, auto gauging systems, vision systems, and assembly and handling solutions.
"Incite gives us a perfect jumpstart in turnkey integration, infrastructure and domain expertise to deliver complete automation solutions," Win Automation Vice-President G. Sundararaman said in the statement.
Incite promoter Radhika Setty said her company had shown its capability in robotics integration and automation for over a decade.
"With this restructuring, we will be part of building factory automation business and offer vertically integrated solutions to our customers," said Setty.
Wipro's engineering specialises in designing and manufacturing custom built hydraulic cylinders for applications in diverse segments such as construction and earth-moving, material and cargo handling, forestry, farm and agriculture, mining and truck tipping.
