The industry saw it coming, and fans made it happen - Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-starrer "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has become the first film to cross Rs.100 crore mark within just a week of its release.

After a bumper opening of Rs.19.45 crore in the country, and an opening weekend of a whopping Rs.62.11 crore, the Ayan Mukerji directorial continued running to packed houses in India.

"100 crore. And still counting," tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The youthful romantic entertainer released May 31, and saw audiences who came either besotted by the movie's fun and frolicsome trailer, or by sheer word of the mouth.

A hit among the youths and elders alike, the movie has won the audience's heart with its well-suited cast, beautiful cinematography in snow-laden mountains, earthy locales of Udaipur and more, peppy music, exciting dance moves and a predictable, but well-executed script.

If the movie minted Rs.19.45 crore on its opening day, Saturday and Sunday brought in business of Rs.20.16 crore and Rs.22.5 crore, respectively.

The movie, produced by Karan Johar, also has Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur in more than supporting roles to back this heartwarming story about family, friends and love.
