Not a day passes without Swami Ramdev’s media office flooding journalists with details of his daily activities. The other day, journalists were told that the saffron-clad yogic preacher-cum-healer was holding a camp for chartered accountants — ‘financial engineers of the country’, was the term used. The camp in Haridwar was being held at the instance of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and ‘full council, five regional councils, 118 branches and more than 800 members would participate’, journalists were told.
They would learn ‘the mantra of yogic life and leadership’ from the swami. May be after being mentally and physically invigorated, one can expect better accounting practices from the country’s ‘financial engineers’.
