Letters: Add FDI to the list
Business Standard New Delhi This refers to the editorial "Trouble with Asean" (April 16). Indonesia and Thailand have contended against the federalist aspect of the foreign direct investment (FDI) approvals. But a solution for their concern is doubtful. First, the constitutional position of FDI, as a part of the state or central list is disputed. Secondly, even if this contention is resolved and their concerns are addressed, other non-trade barriers, departmental clearances and regional strikes would still pose a big problem.
