Sons and Fathers” (March 24) was an interesting read. Sons have to contend with constant pressure to match up to their illustrious fathers, if they have to succeed in the field same as their fathers’. It is highly probable that the innate abilities of the son/daughter may actually not be discovered and the offspring may not unearth his/her actual potential. On the issue of the thriving political families, the less said the better, because it is debatable if the performance delivered by the first-generation leader causes the progeny to work harder. Indian politics has become a fiefdom where the constituencies are bequeathed.
