Those flying to India are given a form on board their flights asking them to fill up the details of whether they have been to swine flu-affected countries in the past few weeks. Those that have are then asked to answer some more questions. A passenger flying in from Singapore was certain he had be detained for further questioning since Singapore has had several swine flu cases.
To his surprise, however, Singapore did not figure in the list of countries affected by swine flu. So, he asked the air hostess of the Jet Airways flight as to what she recommended he do. The bright air hostess suggested he tick the ‘no’ box and write ‘Singapore’ in brackets next to it, leaving it to the immigration officers to decide if Singapore was swine flu-affected or not. The good news, though, is that the Delhi airport has remote scanners to check the temperatures of all those coming in.
