As advertisement war reached its peak and has already taken an ugly shape, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhna Singh has sent a Rs 10 crore legal notice for defamation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for alleged 'defamatory advertisement' in newspapers and internet via an advertisement.
The advertisement has accused both of keeping a currency counting machine at their official residence, giving contract to in-laws, and purchase of dumpers.
Reacting to the notice, the Congress has said it will reply to them as they have 'proofs'. “We will reply them in court as we have all proofs,” Manak Agrawal, a Congress spokesperson said here.
In the notice both have asked the Congress party to publish a similar size advertisement in the same papers for withdrawing the charges in a fortnight or face a Rs 10 crore defamation suit.
Also, the chief minister has sent a notice to State Congress Committee and party’s state president Kantilal Bhuria.
