Speaking at the Janata Dal (United) 'Chintan Shivir' in Rajgir on the second and concluding day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took a dig at BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's saying his Gujarat countepart should use a 'sweeter tone' to target his political opponents.

The Bihar Chief Minister went on add that Gujaratis love sweets, but there is nothing sweet about Modi's speeches. "When we were allies, Modi used to praise me, now he criticises me," he said.

Excerpts from Kumar's speech

• BJP's hunkar rally rally reflects their arrogance.

• BJP has weakened the fight against the Congress

• His Red Fort dreams will remain dreams

• Modi’s statements were a figment of his imagination. We were not seated at the same table at any lunch hosted by PM Manmohan Singh

• I saw Modi was wiping his face. Why was he sweating? A man who aspires to lead India should be patient.

• My former friends once praised me and now they are finding faults with me

• BJP is responsible for the split

• JD-U will connect with voters, demand the legitimate rights of Bihar

• They talk about Lords Ram, Krishna. BJP should remember Ram, Krishna united country and didn't belong to any caste or party.
