A decision in this regard was taken in the state cabinet on Wednesday. Speaking about the new initiative, government spokesperson Nitin Patel said that the state ministers have decided to give a new twist to resolving block and taluka level complaints of people.
“Small issues of people related to taluka and district level administration would now be resolved by ministers who would be visiting their respective taluka and districts regularly. The ministers would hear out the complaints and try to resolve it there itself,” said Patel in an official statement.
This decision has been taken to make the grievance redressal more people-oriented and transparent, Patel added.
Another crucial decision taken during today’s cabinet meeting was to hold Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations at village level. Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he was chief minister of Gujarat had started the tradition of holding Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations at district and taluka levels in order to allow involve more people from the districts in state events. Now, Modi’s successor and state’s first woman chief minister Anandiben Patel had moved a step further and decided to hold such events at village level also.
According to the statement issue by the state government, now the Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations will also take place in big villages of the state.
The coming Independence Day celebration on August 15 will be held in Patan district.
Chief minister Anandiben Patel also reviewed the preparedness to handle disaster situations ahead of the monsoon.
