India’s 3rd largest telecom operator ties up with DAMEL to keep the daily commuters connected with its uninterrupted network connectivity

In continuation of its Network expansion drive to ensure uninterrupted connectivity across Delhi and NCR, Idea Cellular, has become the first guest operator to have seamless connectivity across the Delhi Airport Metro Express Line (DAMEL) corridor at all 6 stations (New Delhi Railway Station, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Aero City, Airport and Sec 21 Dwarka) and along the route.

Starting May 2012, the entire length of the 22.7km corridor from New Delhi Railway Station till Dwarka Sec 21 via Indira Gandhi International Airport will receive uninterrupted network coverage by Idea Cellular.

The entire 18-20 minutes journey between New Delhi Railway Station and Dwarka sec 21, has specific areas where mobile users face issues with connectivity to their home network. With the installation of BTS sites at all the stations, Idea cellular has ensured that commuters enjoy flawless network connectivity in this stretch also.

Speaking about the association with Delhi Metro, Mr. Sanjeev Govil, Chief Operating Officer, Delhi &Haryana – Idea Cellular said, “Delhi Metro has become a significant part of a Delhite’s daily travel schedule. In continuation of our Network expansion drive to ensure everyone on the Idea network enjoys uninterrupted connectivity across Delhi and NCR, we have tied up with Delhi Metro to set up cell sites accordingly to keep everyone connected. We are confident that this association will build a strong connect with the audience and ensures seamless connectivity across Delhi Airport Metro Express Line corridor.”

In order to reach out to the audience Idea has rolled out a 360 degree campaign, utilizing all traditional and emerging media platforms. Idea has always offered simple solutions to prevalent problems of the society, through the power of mobile telephony.

With 8 trains running every 13 minutes, this airport express line is slated to be the most important source of travel across the city, already being used by approximately 30,000 commuters everyday for airport access and local travel.
