"I will take it up with the Planning Commission to provide subsidy in transportation which will develop the industrial sector in the state", Gogoi told a press conference here.
"Big industrialists have not come to the state despite the improved law and order scenario. Our strategies have to be changed and small and medium cottage industries should be set up for which the transport subsidy is a must", he said.
Connectivity was his top most priority in the third consecutive term of Congress government in the state, he said adding economic development was a must without which the basic problems afflicting the state will not be resolved.
Lamenting that importance was not given to the problem of erosion by Brahmaputra in the state, Gogoi said Rs 15000 crore has been sanctioned by Planning Commission for irrigation and anti erosion schemes in the state.
