"It is high time for the Government at the Centre to intervene to solve the problem," UDP legislator Ardent Basaiawmoit told PTI.
"This is a token of opposition to the long pending inter state border problem with Assam. We are serious and we no longer believe in discussion with the Assam government," he said.
A sub-committee on inter state boundary in Meghalaya had recommended to the state government for setting up of an independent boundary commission under the auspices of the Union government which was rejected by the Assam government.
Meghalaya and Assam have 12 areas of differences along the inter-state border.
