100 Chinese traders held in Nigeria
They were all picked up from local markets in Kano and Lagos cities, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said today.
He said officials of the Chinese embassy in Nigeria have visited the arrested people.
"The Chinese side will work closely with their Nigerian counterparts to help resolve the case," Hong added.
Meanwhile, Nigeria's immigration authority have released around 70 detained Chinese citizens.
