103 aspirants in poll fray from 7 Yavatmal assembly segments

After the final day of withdrawal of nominations got over on Wednesday, 103 aspirants remain in the fray from seven assembly segments in Yavatmal district.
The constituency wise break up of candidates is Wani (13), Ralegaon (ST) (10), Yavatmal (22), Digras (13), Arni (11), Pusad (15) and Umarkhed (19) respectively.
There were 204 candidates who filed their nominations, of whom 177 were found valid after scrutiny.
Today, being the final day for withdrawal, 74 candidates, most of them independents, withdrew their nominations from the seven assembly segments in the district.
The major political parties, namely Congress, BJP, NCP, Shiv Sena, BSP and MNS have kept their candidates in the poll fray.
