Out of a total 76 suspected dengue patients, 17 have been tested positive, District Malaria officer Gyanendra Mishra said.
Isolation wards have been set up at district hospital of Sanjay Nagar and MMG Hospital with a capacity of 10 beds each, he said.
The health department has directed all private hospitals, nursing homes for sending blood reports of dengue cases detected in their laboratories at government hospital laboratories for cross checking.
Advising people not to panic in case of fever, Mishra said that blood transfusion is mandated when platelet count is below 20,000 and platelet stock is readily available at both the district government hospitals.
