Two people have been arrested for apparently facilitating admissions in private colleges on the basis of forged documents, police said today.
According to Santosh Kumar, the station house officer in the Masuri town police station, the accused identified as Sanjiv and Mohit were arrested after receiving a complaint from a private institute's management.
The accused used false designations like registrar and sub registrar to earn huge money from the students.
The police have recovered 531 passbooks of two nationalised banks, 116 admission files with forged academic documents, 173 scholarship forms, 193 fake transfer certificates, 94 stamps of different institutes from their office.
The accused have confessed their crime, the police said, adding a manhunt was launched to nab their accomplices.
