Unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on paramilitary personnel in northwest Pakistan on Friday, killing two soldiers on the spot, police said.
The attack took place in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering South Waziristan tribal district.
The soldiers were returning to a check post after performing Friday prayers when the unknown gunmen fired on them, killing both on the spot, a police officer said.
The assailants fled the scene after the attack, he said.
Earlier, four policemen were injured after a terrorist lobbed a grenade at a police patrolling van in Tank district. The terrorist was killed in the retaliatory firing by the police.
