218 kg of poppy seized in Jammu, one arrested

A trucker was arrested by police today and 218 kg of poppy was seized from his possession here.
During a routine checking of the vehicles, police intercepted one truck at Bantalab belt in the district last night, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Uttam Chand said today.
During the search, 218 kg of poppy straw was seized, he said, adding, the truck driver is identified as Mohd Younis of Shopian district of South Kashmir.
He was taken into police custody after a case was registered at Nagrota Police Station, Chand said.
