Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir issued promotion orders of 27 ASIs to the rank of SIs yesterday, a police spokesman said.
The IGP congratulated the officers and their families on the promotions and impressed upon them to work with more dedication and devotion for the welfare of the people.
Earlier this April, Zonal Police Headquarters issued orders for promotion in respect of 140 Assistant Sub-Inspectors to the rank of Sub-Inspectors, the spokesman said.
Besides, promotion orders were also issued in other ranks in May and June, when 487 and 121 Head Constables were promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors respectively, he said.
