3,500 women take part in Kolkata Pinkathon
Press Trust of India Kolkata Over 3,500 women across different age groups and segments of society, took part in the Kolkata Pinkathon today.
The marathon was an initiative to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle for women and issues like breast cancer and hence named 'Pinkathon', an organiser said.
Super-model, actor and Pinkathon concept founder Milind Soman flagged off the run.
"Pinkathon is the seed of change. It is the beginning of a movement carried forward by a growing community of empowered women across India," Milind said.
A group of 30 visually impaired girls also took part in the run.
