According to police, the girl was in the said area with her friend on Tuesday afternoon when five men arrived and then dragged her behind some bushes where they raped her.
The men also allegedly took the victim's mobile phone and her cash after injuring her friend, police said, adding that the complaint in the matter was lodged by the victim yesterday.
"Three people were arrested today in connection with looting and gangraping the girl. Two others are on the run. A search is on to nab them," said DCP Zone-II, SK Dave.
The five have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Atrocities Act and the recently enacted POCSO Act, police said.
