The incident took place as the three-wheeler driver suddenly stopped the moving vehicle to take a passenger on Bistupur-Tatanagar Station Road and the vehicle got squeezed by a dumper coming from behind, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kanhaiya Upadhyay said.
Three persons including two passengers and the autorickshaw driver were killed while one woman was seriously injured.
The injured was taken to Tata Main Hospital.
The dumper has been impounded but the driver managed to escape.
