The fishermen had set off from Baithakhol port of Karwar on Wednesday and were returning with fish catch when their fibre boat broke and started sinking, Coast Guard officials said.
They said the fishermen started to unload fish into the sea to reduce the load but it did not stop the boat from sinking after which they informed the owner and Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard tracked the boat and rescued the fishermen in the early hours, the officials added.
