Following a tip-off, police laid a trap and nabbed Golu, Surendra, Pankaj and Sazid who were travelling in a vehicle with around 300 kgs of copper wire and 33 meters aluminium wire yesterday from Bakharwa Bagh area in Modi Nagar.
The market price of the stolen wire is said to be over Rs six lakh. Three country-made pistols, three live and two used cartridges were also recovered from their possession, police said.
They used to steal copper and aluminium wires from transformers installed in remote areas, police said.
