The five members of the interstate gang, all residents of Pasonda in Ghaziabad, were recently arrested during raids conducted, DCP (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad said.
The members of the 'Pasonda Gang' -- Imran, Nadim, Rizwan, Shahnawaz and Shadab -- were involved in 43 criminal cases including robbery and snatching, that have now been solved with their arrest, the officer said.
The revolver looted from an assistant parliamentary secretary of Jaitley, was recovered from Shadab, police said.
"The gang members used to ride motorcycles and targeted people in late night and early hours, robbing them at gunpoint," the DCP(Shahdara) said.
Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest the other members of the gang, she added.
