The three senior arrested persons of the new Nepali rebel outfit were 'Commander-In-Chief' Surjya Alae Magar of Pukuripar in Tamulpur, 'Chairman' Lal Bahadur Tamang of Golma Chowk in Udalguri district and 'Vice-Chairman' Suresh Ghimire of Sashipur in Tamulpur, IGP L R Bishnoi told PTI.
The two cadre were Arjun Chetri alias Arjun Rimel of Bhutankhuti Mushalpur and Birkha Bahadur Limbu of Kumarikata, the IGP said.
Formed between 2012-13 "to protect the interest of Nepali-speaking people in the Bodo areas of Assam", police doubted the UGPO may soon turn into a militant outfit.
