50 tents set up for victims of Masoodpur fire incident

Around 50 temporary tents have been set up for victims of those affected in the Masoodpur fire incident as immediate relief besides other arrangements.
The fire in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area yesterday gutted more than 500 jhuggis. Though no casualties were reported, eight persons suffered minor injuries.
New Delhi's Deputy Commissioner Ameya Abhyankar said around 50 tents have been set up for the victim families and they are being provided with three-time meals.
"Also, around 10-15 tankers have been arranged for drinking water purpose and 25 mobile toilets of MCD have also been put in place," he said.
He further said the work of removing debris and remains was being carried out with the help of JCB machines.

Meanwhile, a team consisting of Assistant Commissioner of Police, four inspectors and three platoons have been deployed for security purpose, Abhyankar said.
A health camp by MCD has also been set up in the area.
Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung yesterday had visted the fire affected area in the morning and inspected the relief and rescue operations at the site.
