Mizoram police have pushed back more than 500 non-tribals who were arrested for violation of the provisions of inner line permit (ILP).
Aizawl superintendent of police L R Dingliana Sailo today said the state police with the help of local NGOs launched a massive raid across the state since Friday and arrested the non-tribals living in the state without valid ILP.
The arrested were produced before the local courts and were pushed back to neighbouring Assam after they were found guilty.
Non-tribals have to obtain an ILP before entering Mizoram, which could be extended. They can also procure temporary ILP at the airport and police stations in the border areas.
