The mishap occurred on the Malegaon-Satana road this afternoon when the vehicle, carrying passengers, collided with the car, which was coming here, an official attached to the Chhavani police station said.
The six seater was going to Satana. While five persons were killed on the spot, one person died on the way to a hospital, the officer said, adding nine person were injured who have been admitted to a hospital here.
Two of the deceased are yet to be identified, he said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered and investigations are underway, police said.
