800 bottles of cough syrup seized

Jalpaiguri district police have seized 800 bottles of cough syrup being sent to Bhutan to be used as intoxicant.
The police today said during a routine check in Dhupguri last night, the district police intercepted a car carrying the 800 bottles of cough syrup.
Of the four persons in the car, two were arrested while others managed to flee.
During questioning it was learnt that the consignment was meant for Bhutan, the police said.
The district police will be seeking help from the police of the neighbouring country in this regard.
