AAP manifesto to highlight affordable housing, edu. Schemes

The Aam Aadmi Party, in its soon-to-be released manifesto, is going all-out to woo the poor and the middle class by focusing on affordable housing, education and employment with the slogan "big change without big spending".
On the housing front, the party said it will redevelop around "200 acre of land" owned by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) which is presently lying unused mainly in areas such as Kasturba Niketan, Savda Ghevra and Bhalaswa.
"Around 200 acre of land owned by DUSIB is lying unused especially in Outer Delhi areas. So the talk of lack of land is rubbish. We will use the unused land for affordable housing for the economically weaker sections and also the middle class," a senior party leader said.

The party cited a provision under the DUSIB Act, which says that the Board "may prepare schemes for housing of those belonging to economically weaker sections including low income group and poor categories".
The manifesto will also have the promise of enforcing an education loan guarantee scheme wherein the government will stand guaranteer for every person who takes the loan ruling out the need for land or any other mortgage.
"Our education loan guarantee scheme is based on a Planning Commission report. It will also lead to pressure on government to augment its existing education infrastructure as this will lead to higher enrolment in colleges," he said.

Stating that Delhi has missed the "IT Bus" and spurt in the services sector, the party said it is going to build "technological incubators", a part of its efforts to turn Delhi into a hub for "start-ups".
"Today IIT-ians are being forced to go to places like Singapore for a start-up. But Delhi itself can become a hub for start-ups. We will build a 30 lakh sq feet incubation centre in Delhi itself," the leader said.
