AAP soon to clear its stand on national policies

Nursing pan-India ambitions, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is expected to unveil its policy on key issues like economy and foreign affairs by the end of next month.
Senior party leader and member of national executive Yogendra Yadav said the party was working on a blue-print with the help of "some best minds" from all walks of life and it will be ready in 5 to 7 weeks.
"We are being asked about the stand on important issues like foreign policy and economy. Few months back we had formed committees of experts to have a policy on these important issues.

"Few of these are very good while we are not happy with some and needs to be tweaked a bit. This requires some distilling before it gets into the manifesto," Yadav told reporters here.
On asked whether the corporate world is worried about the economic policy of the party after the Delhi's government's decision to give free water, he said the party was "deliberately pragmatic" over its policies including one on economy.
"We are a problem solver and approach problem in a very pragmatic way. We are a evidence driven party which believes in empirical data.

"If (people say) subsidies have failed then let's find out why it has failed and if we still continue to give subsidies despite then it would be silly," Yadav said.

He added that it would be a "complete misunderstanding" to say that party is "left of Left."
When asked about the number of Lok Sabha seats AAP will contest, he said, "Although we have got cross-section support, we still have not decided on how many seats we will contest. We have got a very good response from Haryana and UP.
"Even the response from Gujarat is very good. It depends upon what type of candidates we get," he said.
