Aban Offshore shares down over 5% on Dec quarter net loss

Shares of offshore drilling contractor Aban Offshore today plunged over 5 per cent after the company reported a net loss of Rs 88.7 crore for the quarter ended December.
The stock fell by 5.18 per cent to settle at Rs 180.30 on BSE. During the day, it went down by 6 per cent to Rs 178.70.
At NSE, shares of the company dipped by 5.16 per cent to end at Rs 179.90.
Around 3.51 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over 11 lakh shares were traded at NSE during the day.
Aban Offshore yesterday reported a net loss of Rs 88.7 crore for the quarter ended December weighed down by lower income.
The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 129.98 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
The total income of the company declined to Rs 737.44 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 1,016.45 crore in the same period last fiscal.
