Abbott India Q4 Net up 18.58 pc at Rs 59-cr

Drug firm Abbott India today reported an 18.58 per cent rise in its standalone net profit to Rs 59.01 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2016, mainly on account of robust sales.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 49.76 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Abbott India said in a BSE filing.
Standalone total income from operations also rose to Rs 682.97 crore during the quarter under consideration as against Rs 600.87 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
For the fiscal ended March 31, 2016, the net profit of the company rose to Rs 259.63 crore from Rs 228.96 crore in the previous fiscal.
Standalone total income from operations of the company also rose to Rs 2,628.42 crore for the recently ended fiscal as against Rs 2,289.32 crore for the year-ago fiscal.
In a separate filing, the company said its board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 35 per equity share of Rs 10 each.
Shares of Abbott India today closed 0.98 per cent higher at Rs 4,554.45 per scrip on BSE.
