Agriculture Price commission by end of Feb: CM

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said Agriculture Price commission will be constituted in the state by the end of February.
After laying foundation for about Rs 300 crore developmental works at Indi taluk, about 60 km from here, the Chief Minister said that his government is "committed" to provide justice to farmers.
He said besides announcing a subsidy of Rs 150 per tonne to sugarcane farmers, his government has also announced tax exemption for factories to enable them to provide suitable rates to farmers.
Expressing satisfaction on the implementation of 'Anna Bhagya'scheme, he said "about one crore poor families having BPL card are benefitting from the scheme."

The scheme has been implemented by the government with an intention to make Karnataka hunger free state,he added.
He also pointed out that government has fulfilled 65 out 165 promises made in the manifesto, during its eight month tenure.
Noting that 98 taluks in the state were reeling under drought, Siddaramaih said steps have been taken to address the situation.
The Chief Minister also assured the gathering that Rs 37 crore would be given to establish Bhima Shankar Sugar factory at Margur in Indi taluk,during the next budget.
