Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA), which caters to the needs of industries set up in Adityapur in adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district, was in the process of identifying land in and around the district.
"We have over 300 applications of investors pending for past several months owing to shortage of land availability," Yugal Kishore Choubey, Managing Director of AIADA, said here today.
Choubey, who was taking part in a seminor on "opportunities for food processing sector in Kolhan", jointly organized by Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and AIADA at Chamber bhawan, said "We have identified around 100 acres of land each in Dugni and Rajnagar for expansion in the district.
As the land belonged to the government, it would not be a problem to acquire it, he said admitting that AIADA did not have any option but to look out for land beyond Industrial hub of Adityapur.
Around 320 applications comprising of old and new investors willing to set up industrial unit in auto-mobile ancilliary hub of Adityapur for long but AIADA was not able to allot land owing to its non-availability, he said.
Once, we acquire these identified land, we will allot land to the applicants to set up industries including for food processing units, he assured.
In fact, we have plan to expand beyond the Seraikela-Kharswan district and identified land near Baharagora in Ghatsila sub-division of East Singhbhum district for expansion, Choubey added..
Around 1150 industrial units, mostly auto-ancilliaries, are operating from industrial area under command of AIADA.
