All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) submitted a memorandum to the Delhi Commissioner of Police and the Union Health Minister demanding inquiry into the death of Yuma Sherpa.
"Authorities must seal New Life India clinic for its criminal laxity and irresponsibility, and institute a proper enquiry to determine culpability, and arrest the culprits," the association said in a statement issued here.
"Stringent action must be taken against police authorities who refused to register a complaint citing jurisdiction issues, and against any authorities who have delayed registration of the FIR," they demanded.
Yuma was admitted to the clinic on Jan 29 and underwent final procedure for the removal of her eggs. When her husband found her unconscious, he was told that she was given some drugs so that she could rest.
Later, on insistence, doctors checked her, and when she still did not respond, they brought in emergency care kit and tried to revive her.
