AISECT partners with MANAS for skill development in Odisha

AISECT, a company imparting skill development and employment-linked training, has partnered with Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) to train youths from the minority community in Odisha.

While the initial phase of the training began last month in Balasore with a batch of students, two more centres at Bhubaneswar and Raigarha will be added next month, Aparna Singh, manager, Project & Skill Development Department of AISECT said.

As part of the partnership, the AISECT will train 250 candidates as handset repair technicians and 250 others as telecom tower technicians.

MANAS is an ambitious skill development scheme of the Union Minority Affairs Ministry, aimed at providing an all-India level training framework to the minority community.

It is based on tie-ups with national and international organisations (on PPP model) for imparting skills training to the minority population.

As part of the training, each candidate will approximately undergo 340 hours of free of cost training, AISECT director Siddharth Chaturvedi said.

Each candidate undergoing training under this scheme will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500 for 3 months during the course of training and Rs 2,000 every month for 2 months after the completion of training.

As the project implementation agency, the AISECT will also be responsible for job placement or self-employment of at least 70 per cent of the total number of trainees.
