G Sai Krishna, a native of Telangana, was a first year student of post graduate diploma in facilities management and had joined the course recently, a senior police officer said.
He allegedly hanged himself last evening. He has left a note written in Telugu, addressed to his parents. The hostel was empty at that time as other students had gone for Diwali holidays, SHO of Sector 39 Police Station, Amarnath Yadav, said.
Krishna was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead, the SHO said.
Krishna's father is an advocate. In his note, Krishna wrote that committing suicide is not easy and told his parents that they have done a lot for him, Yadav said.
The body has been handed over to his family after post-mortem, police said.
In August, a student of BA-LLB course in the university, had allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Delhi.
